Commitments

In 2012, the government of South Korea made a commitment to contribute to the Family Planning 2020 goal to enable 120 million more women and girls in the world's poorest countries to use modern contraception by 2020. This commitment more than doubled South Korea's annual support for maternal and child health, including family planning, from US$5.4 million in 2010 to at least US$10.8 million in 2013. Korea also pledged to expand its overall official development assistance program, maintaining maternal and child health, including family planning, as a priority.
