The Lagos State Family Planning Costed Implementation Plan (CIP) was developed to guide the state towards meeting the Lagos-specific targets set within the national blueprint.

The Government of Nigeria (GoN) was represented at the London Summit by Dr. Muhammad Ali Pate, the Minister of State for Health, who shared the GoN’s commitment to increase the nation’s contraceptive prevalence rate (CPR) to 36 percent by 2018. To achieve this objective, the GoN pledged to contribute US$11.35 million annually to procure reproductive health (RH) commodities and work with state and local governments to secure complementary budgets for family planning (FP) and RH service delivery.

In Nigeria, the shortage of health care workers has resulted in poor use of thousands of facilities for essential health care services. In some parts of the country, community health extension workers are employed but under-utilized. The National Task Shifting and Sharing Policy is aimed at changing the curriculum for pre-service education and in-service training to produce more knowledgeable and skilled health care workers. These measures are temporary and are designed to make the best use of staff currently employed to Nigerian health facilities.

In October 2016 , the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development released a strategy report, which "sets out France's priorities for action" to empower youth and guarantee a woman's right to "unhindered access to sexual and reproductive health services." The report provides a framework for partnership and diplomatic action on demographic change.

This policy brief provides an overview of the 2016-2020 Costed Implementation Plan for Bangladesh, developed to address the country's family planning programming needs. The CIP has been developed to support the achievement of the FP2020 goals in Bangladesh as it provides a clear picture of the financial resources needed to reach FP2020 goals.

The Family Planning Services: Integrated Family Planning Scale-up Plan 2013-2020, published with the support of the USAID-funded Health Policy Project by the the Ministry of Community Development, Mother and Child Health (MCDMCH), was adopted in 2013. Its objective is to increase the CPR among married women from 33% in 2007 to 58% by 2020 (modern methods). The plan includes strategies on demand, service delivery and access, procurement and supply chain, policy and environment, financing, and supervision, monitoring, and coordination.

Review the Government of Sindh's (Pakistan) costed implementation plan for enhancing CPR from 30 percent in 2015 to 45 percent by 2020; reducing unmet need for FP from 21 percent in 2015 to 14 percent by 2020; and ensuring contraceptive commodity security up to 80 percent for all public sector outlets by 20181.

L'objectif visé travers cette déclaration est de contribuer à la réduction de la pauvreté et à l’amélioration de la qualité de la vie grâce à la maîtrise de la croissance démographique du pays. Pour y arriver, il envisage de : faire baisser la fécondité de 6 enfants par femme en 2008 à 3 enfants par femme en 2025 pour cela, le taux de prévalence contraceptive doit de 30 à au moins 50% comme illustré dans le graphique n°; accélérer la baisse de la mortalité en faisant passer l’espérance de vie à la naissance de 49 ans en 2008 à 60 ans en 2025 ; faire passer le taux d’accroissement de la population de 2,4% à 2% en 2025. Pour ce faire, le Gouvernement du Burundi a posé des actes concrets en faveur de la planification familiale ayant permis de faire passer le taux de prévalence contraceptive de 2,7% en 2000 à 34% en 2014. Dans le souci de concrétiser les engagements pris et de mobiliser les ressources, l'Etat du Burundi a décidé d'élaborer le présent plan d'accélération de la planification Familiale, sur la base des gaps stratégiques et géographiques.

I don’t think it’s an accident that we’ve reached gender parity in primary but not secondary education. Because when girls are young, they’re often seen simply as children. But when they hit adolescence and start to develop into women, and are suddenly subject to all of their societies’ biases around gender, that is precisely when they start to fall behind in their education.
