December 2015: FP2020 Commitment to Action 2014-2015 Details Accomplishments, New Data, Calls for Greater Action

In November, FP2020 launched its third annual progress report,Commitment to Action 2014-2015, which details accomplishments over the three years since the 2012 London Summit on Family Planning, takes an honest look at where the partnership is falling short on its projections, and calls for increased efforts to accelerate progress. The report is also now available in French. Additionally, our comprehensive Measurement Annex provides new estimates and analyses on the suite of FP2020 Core Indicators and expanded analyses on contraceptive method mix, youth and contraceptive use, and the enabling environment for family planning. During the launch event, Melinda Gates, Co-Chair and Trustee of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, announced via video message a major expansion of the Foundation’s FP2020 commitment, pledging to increase its financial investment by 25% over the next three years. The report launch received widespread media coverage, including pieces by the BBC, the Guardian and Thomson Reuters Foundation.
