Merck for Mothers is Merck’s 10-year, $500 million initiative to create a world where no woman dies giving life. In 2012, Merck for Mothers committed US$25 million over eight years. Contributing scientific and business expertise, as well as financial resources, Merck for Mothers is working to ensure that women have access to two of the most powerful means to end preventable maternal deaths: quality maternity care and modern contraception. Merck for Mothers has collaborated across sectors – working with governments, NGOs, UN agencies, research institutions, other businesses, and even other pharmaceutical companies.

Merck for Mothers launched in Rajasthan
Merck for Mothers has partnered with the Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust (HLFPPT) to work in 19 high-focus districts. During the course of the three-year project, 19 urban and 38 rural Merrygold Hospitals will be set-up along with training and deployment of more than 1000 village-based Merrytarang community health members.
