Zimbabwe FP2020: CSOs 4th Round Symposium Outcome Document

On March 7, 2019, Population Services Zimbabwe, as the country CSOs Focal Point, in partnership with Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council, Ministry of Health and Child Care, supported by Right Here, Right Now Zimbabwe (RHRN), hosted the 4th Symposium for FP2020. The key deliberations, challenges, recommendations, and action plans agreed on this forum are captured in this Outcome Document.

Kenya Hits Target as Married Women Embrace Family Planning

The contraceptives prevalence rate among married women of reproductive age has risen from 53 percent in 2014 to 61 percent last year, according to new data from the Ministry of Health.

The rise has seen Kenya surpass its 2020 target of 58 percent.

Family planning services and programmes have important health, social, financial, environmental and economic benefits.

Decades of research have shown that better access to contraception helps people to plan and space for pregnancies.

Providing Young People Access to Reproductive Health Services is Essential to Reaching FP2020 Goals

If young people are to fulfill their enormous potential, they must be able to take charge of their own reproductive health. Organizations like Copper Rose in Zambia are empowering adolescents and young people to raise awareness about and access to reproductive health services.
