Haiti

Commitment Maker Since 2017

Country Data and Resources at Your Fingertips

A commitment maker since 2017 and a recent GFF recipient, Haiti is gradually refocusing its health systems while recovering from recent natural disasters. The country has worked on a reproductive health strategy (2018-2022) and developed a youth health strategy with the support of the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO). Although the Haitian government commits to developing a budget line item specifically for family planning, the amount they propose to commit is low with reliance on external donors. With an all women mCPR of 22.8%, there is a lot of potential for rapid growth, though the country continues to have challenges with supply chain issues to remote and hard-to-reach people as well as with service delivery.

Haiti’s country page provides access to family planning data and the latest research and news to support the efforts of all those committed to increasing access to voluntary contraception.
